This policy explains what personal information Sailbook Inc ("SailBook", "we", "us") collects through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It covers sailbook.ai and its pages. The SailBook booking platform used by our customers is covered by the agreement we sign with each customer.
1. Who we are
Sailbook Inc makes SailBook, booking software for tour, activity and rental operators. Sailbook Inc is the controller of the personal information described in this policy.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run this website and respond to you:
- Demo requests — when you use the Book a demo form we receive your company name, email address, the OTA channels you use (if you tell us) and your message.
- Emails you send us — the content of your message and your contact details.
- Technical information — like most websites, our hosting provider records basic request data such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. These logs are used for security and to keep the site running.
- Your cookie choice — whether you chose "Accept all" or "Essential only", stored in your browser. See our Cookies Policy.
We do not ask for payment details on this website, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
3. How we use information
We use the information above to:
- reply to your demo request and arrange a walkthrough;
- answer questions and keep a record of our conversations with you;
- keep this website secure, diagnose problems and prevent abuse;
- comply with our legal obligations.
Where data-protection laws such as the GDPR apply, we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries and operating a secure website, on steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract, and on your consent where we ask for it (for example, non-essential cookies). We do not sell your personal information and we do not use it for automated decisions that have legal effects on you.
5. How long we keep information
We keep demo requests and related correspondence for as long as needed to follow up with you and for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless you become a customer, in which case our customer agreement applies. Hosting logs are kept for a short period set by our hosting provider. We delete or anonymise information when we no longer need it.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) across this website and access controls on the tools that hold your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the authorities of a breach where the law requires it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent;
- receive your information in a portable format.
California residents have the right to know, delete and correct their personal information and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
To make a request, email info@sailbook.ai. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on it. If you are in the EEA or UK and are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to your local data-protection authority.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
9. Contact us
